Bio

TERI FALINI  began when Teri played a song for Mark Caputo in 2003. He has backed her ever since, sometimes with full band and sometimes just the two of them. Since then, they’ve quietly worked hard touring and releasing two full-lengths, Sun Under Me and The Room.

Both records received airplay on hundreds of college radio stations as
well as scattered commercial play. Sun Under Me was named by the Emory Wheel (of Emory University) as one of the best unheralded releases of the year.

They garnered critical praise from pundits alike, and came to be known as a band with an explosive live show. A Blog review of their
performance at San Francisco’s Noise Pop Festival stated that “some
people have an ability to just turn on, tune in, and drop into the zone, and I’m always impressed when a musician takes the stage and, for lack of a better word, just starts manhandling it. That kind of confidence is gripping…”

Teri’s material is known for it’s honest, albeit sometimes brash, sometimes sultry emotion. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that “Sun Under Me is a collection of songs that gives vent to both Falini’s anger and joy. The inspiration that life took from Falini, it has replaced tenfold.”  Noise Pop wrote, Teri’s melodic, confessional indie-rock tunes coalesced into Falini’s 2005 debut Sun Under Me, a recording that has earned her critical kudos. And, the Pitt News stated that “Falini has a style separate from other artists, mostly in the form of personally written lyrics and a voice that convinces listeners that this music means more to her than simply sales.”

Continuing to work hard as an independent act, Teri Falini showcases a raw approach of life experience turned into songs, while Mark Caputo and company* back her with sympathetic, hooky harmonies and colorful guitar-work.

The band is currently busy playing shows and rehearsing material for their third record.
